“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8, NRSVUE)

Jesus’ words in Acts 1:8 remind us that the church has always been called to move beyond what is familiar, to cross barriers, build relationships, and bear witness to God’s love in every place. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are sent into our neighborhoods, across cultures, and around the world to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

God’s love is never confined by geography, culture, tradition, or the barriers we create. Through the Disciples Mission Fund (DMF), the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) extends Christ’s love beyond barriers to serve, connect, and transform lives across the United States, Canada, and around the world.

During Disciples Mission Fund Week, we invite you to journey Beyond as we celebrate the ministries your gifts make possible. Throughout the week, you’ll discover inspiring stories, videos, reflections, and testimonies that demonstrate how DMF equips congregations, supports leaders, strengthens communities, and shares God’s love wherever it is needed.

Join us September 12–18 as we explore how God continues to call the church beyond what is familiar and into new opportunities for ministry and mission. Together, we are living out the promise of Acts 1:8, extending Christ’s witness beyond every barrier.

The Lord’s Table has always been a place of radical welcome. As Disciples, we believe there is room for everyone. DMF supports ministries that intentionally create belonging, extend hospitality, and ensure more people have a place in the life of the church.

Beyond the Binary | Celebrating the Full Diversity of God’s Creation

God’s image is reflected in the diversity of humanity. The church is called to honor the dignity, gifts, and sacred worth of every person. Through ministries of justice, advocacy, and welcome, the Disciples Mission Fund helps create communities where all people can belong, serve, and flourish.

Beyond One Communion | Unity in Christ

While the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) treasures weekly Communion, our witness extends beyond our own denomination. Through ecumenical partnerships, shared ministries, and collaborative witness, we join Christians around the world in God’s mission.

Beyond One Table | Serving Beyond Worship

The Communion table sends us into the world to serve. Faith is lived not only in worship, but in neighborhoods, schools, disaster response, advocacy, and everyday acts of compassion. Disciples Mission Fund supports ministries that carry Christ’s love into everyday life.

Beyond One Country | A Global Church

God’s mission extends across every nation and culture. Through Global Ministries and international partnerships, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) joins with brothers and sisters around the world to proclaim hope, pursue justice, and build lasting relationships.
